By now, most of you (should) have had enough time to buy Melanie Fiona’s sophomore effort ‘The MF Life’ and give it a couple of thorough listens. The Toronto songstress was also recently the featured artist for WalMart’s Soundcheck segment. In a quick Q&A session, Melanie spoke on her collaborations with John Legend, B.o.B. and Nas and how those features came about.
Speaking on “Change The Record,” she felt that B.o.B. would be the perfect feel and fit for the sound of the track, especially since the two have been hoping to work together for the longest. On her track “Running,” she got “Hip-Hop royalty” Nas to feature on the track where she was originally rapping on. And lastly, her John-Legend assisted cut “L.O.V.E” is her must-have conscious track on the project, which helps remind society the importance of love.
