3rd Annual Miami Times Artopia Presented by Miami International Film Festival
Miami New Times and Miami International Film Festival present a cultural event: Artopia. Art, live music, fashion, film, and performance will combine to satisfy the culture fixes of artistically inclined movers and shakers. Complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be served. This event benefits Hands on Miami.

The Downtown Art Walk
The Downtown Art Walk is a self-guided tour that showcases the many art exhibition venues in Downtown Los Angeles – commercial art galleries, museums, and non-profit art venues. A free shuttle service is provided from 6pm – 10pm. The shuttle, called “The Hippodrome,” is hosted by Esotouric (Kim Cooper and Richard Schave). Performances and information will be provided on the shuttle.

Abstract Vision Female Perspective
Abstract Vision Female Perspective is a new photo exhibition featuring the works of seven Los Angeles women photographers. The show’s theme, is an attempt to free the photographer of current working day assignments without the restrictions or pressure of creating images for profit. On display will be works from artists Bekka Melino, Carrie Camacho, Grace Oh, Janine Lim, Kerry Sawyers, Kyla Wright and Rosalinda Kooyman. Each of the featured photographers brings something unique to the table. Directly influenced by their diverse backgrounds and multi-career choices, their common denominators include a camera and their love for Los Angeles. The show opening reception is on Friday, February 11, 2011 and runs through March 6, 2011 at Urban Sanctuary Gallery, a community art space involved in leading the current artistic renaissance in Boyle Heights.
