Beyonce, Maxwell, En Vogue and Al Green are just a few of the names confirmed for this year’s Essence Music Festival.
Accurately billed “The Ultimate Party,” the Essence Music Festival, celebrating it’s 15th Anniversary, is set to be this year’s hottest festival ticket.
Returning to the “Big Easy” (New Orleans) for a third consecutive year, organizers have put together a line up that rivals that of a Coachella or even Glastonbury festival in terms of its range of performers, speakers and comedians.
Set for “Fourth of July” weekend (July 3-5), Essence is proud to bring you the best in current chart-topping performances while also featuring the return of super girl group En Vogue also known as the “funky divas” !
En Vogue, known for belting out songs like “Too Long,Too Gone,” “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get),” and “Whatta Man,” is reportedly recording a new album and will hopefully perform a few selections from their forthcoming album.
In addition to hosting the return of En Vogue at the New Orleans Superdome, Essence will highlight Hip Hop divas Salt-N-Pepa and honor Maze featuring Frankie Beverly.
Beverly and Maze, long standing supporters of the annual festival since 1995, will be honored during a special tribute performance (to be announced).
Just like it has in previous years, Essence has made travel easy with its website
Essencemusicfestival.com. With just a click you’ll be able to obtain ticketing information; an Essence Music Festival affiliated Hotel/Accommodations list; and even a list of restaurants in the immediate area.
In addition to the aforementioned acts, Anita Baker, Ryan Leslie, Melanie Fiona, Lionel Richie, John Legend, Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, Al Green, Raphael Saadiq, Keri Hilson, Charlie Wilson and Sierra Leone Refugees All Stars are slated to participate.
Bishop T.D. Jakes, Lisa Wu Hartwell, NeNe Leakes, Roland Martin, Juanita Bynum, Steve Harvey, Hill Harper, Marvelyn Brown, Bill Cosby and several others will participate in Essence related seminars.
With a lineup like that you don’t want to miss out on this summer’s hottest ticket and some of New Orleans famed Cajun cuisine !
