Usher cites Bobby Brown as inspiration as a performer, but if you let producer/singer Rico Love tell it, Brown caught fade from Usher back in 2002.
In an interview with “Tax Season,” Love says the altercation was fueled by intoxication at Bobby’s birthday party in L.A. Both singers were drunk and a misunderstanding ensued, causing Bobby to put Usher in a headlock.
The producer recalls:
“Bobby was drunk, talking some sh*t to Ush. Ush thought he was joking. Bobby was dead ass. He started pushing Ush in the chest. And he said, ‘Yeah, lil n**ga.”
He continued:
“He put his arm around Ush, he put him like in a headlock. Like, ‘Yeah n**ga, don’t ever disrespect me, I’m the king. You my son.’ Ush kind of like pushed back, two-pieced Bobby Brown, quick. He did it so fast, everybody in the party thought they was play-fighting. Ush don’t f**k around.”
Love then tells the stories of a few more R&B tiffs involving Usher, and another one involving Trey Songz and Mario.
Wow, Usher really DOES have “hands of stone.” Lol
