Jill Scott returns to her birthplace of Philadelphia to perform for the Philly Fourth of July Jam. The free concert will include a variety of artists from different genres; Marsha Ambrosius, John Mayer, Demi Lovato, Ne-Yo, J. Cole will take the stage to please the crowd. Philly natives, The Roots, have been selected as the house band for the night's "Largest Free Concert in America."

Questlove and Black Thought will serve as the event's music directors. "We are excited to be at the Philly 4th of July Jam the biggest Independence Day concert around! You can expect a celebration packed with great artists right on the famous Benjamin Franklin Parkway" state Black Thought. "Where else should you be on the Fourth of July other than Philly?"

For people that cannot attend in person, the show will be broadcast on VH1. The show starts at 7pm EST.

The Philly 4th of July Jam takes place during Wawa Welcome America!, a multi-day festival that celebrates America's birthday in America's birthplace, Philadelphia.

She’s an award-winning singer, poet and actress, and now Jill Scott is coming home to her native Philadelphia! On July 4th, she’ll be gracing the stage for a free concert in honor of Independence Day. It’s sure to be an amazing show that fans won’t want to miss – here’s why:

Jill Scott has made waves in the music industry since bursting onto the scene in 2000 with her album Who Is Jill Scott? Words And Sounds Vol. 1. Since then, she’s gone on to release five studio albums as well as two compilation albums, all of which have been met with critical acclaim. She even took home three Grammy Awards for Best R&B Album (The Real Thing) and Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance (“A Long Walk” & “Cross My Mind”).

On July 4th, Jill will be bringing her signature style back home to Philadelphia at The Met Philadelphia venue for a special performance. This isn’t just any old show either – it’s a free event! Fans can listen to some of their favorite Jill Scott songs without spending a dime. Her new single “It’s Love” is sure to make an appearance too – it was released earlier this year after being featured in HBO’s Big Little Lies Season 2 soundtrack.

It promises to be an incredible night full of soulful tunes from one Philly’s most beloved stars. If you’re looking for something fun and exciting this Fourth of July weekend, there’s no better place than The Met Philadelphia when Jill Scott takes the stage.
