After laying low for a minute, the youngin' Trevor Jackson is back with a new mixtape called "In My Feelings," a project that shows Jackson taking greater creative control and expressing what he's gone through.
He tells VIBE, “I wanted to go away for a little bit. It’s still me. I’ve just been through a lot. That also caused my music to change, my vision to change. But yeah, I’m super excited about the new stuff.”
Many tracks express his frustration of growing up in the business, as he’s been acting since he was a young kid. With strong vocals rivaling Usher, Trevor addresses his journey and fake people on “Right Enough” and on “The 25th,” the singer invites the ladies over for a kick back at his hotel. A standout track from the 14-track set is “Here I Come,” a mellow groove that woo’s his lady with inspiration from MJ’s “The Lady In My Life.”
Kevin Gates, Mystikal, Iyn Jay, and Iamsu! appear as guests.
