Looks like A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has been going hard in the studio. The rapper released the first of five new songs all scheduled to be released this week. First up is the Rugrats-themed track, “Right Moves.”
Being dubbed an overnight sensation, the single has already accumulated 630,000 streams on Soundcloud. The radio-friendly single has infectious melodies where fans can hear Boogie reflecting on a past love. “I woke up, first thing I used to do was write you,” he sings.
Puppy love at its finest.
Boogie is holding our attention hostage with the release of his new video “No Promises.” In the JMP-directed clip, Boogie is seen writing his lyrics down in a notebook. The video then follows the rapper to a piano where he contemplates life while developing the lyrics to his next hit.
“No Promises” is said to be a tribute to one of the rapper’s fans, Savannah Walker. Savannah was shot and killed during one of Boogie’s concerts last year. She was 20-years-old. “Rest In Peace Savannah,” he wrote.
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s forthcoming project has no release date as of yet, but he’s already excited about its arrival.
“Been on the road for weeks recording,” he tweeted. “Dropping soon…you won’t be disappointed.”
