Marc E. Bassy, an extremely talented artist emerging from The Bay, is best known as a former vocalist for Los Angeles based band 2AM Club and songwriter for Billboard charting artists such as Cee-Lo Green, Sean Kingston, Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla $ign.

Having been in the industry for a decade now, Marc dedicates 2013/2014 the real kick off to his career. Going solo is a completely different ball game and being gifted with the talent of being a songwriter opens many doors for many on the verge artists.

Marc is kicking off his tour with his favorite artist, Ty Dolla Sign. “We had a song a few years ago, ‘That’s Love’ and have run in the same industry circles so it was just amazing for this opportunity to present itself,” Marc remarked.

Singersroom had the opportunity to get the scoop on the “Gossip Columns” Tour, plus a few sneak peek details about his new project dropping this year.

Singersroom: What are you most excited about for the “Gossip Columns” Tour?

Marc E. Bassy: I’m most excited about meeting and connecting with my fans; I want my fans to know that I am very approachable and far from standoffish.

SR: What has influenced you as an artist?

MEB: The Bay; my environment has influenced me. A lot of times artists from The Bay don’t always get the respect we deserve. The Bay is its own!

SR: How do you stay current as an artist in an ever-changing industry?

MEB: Honestly, I focus on the lyrics. It’s not about the trends, it’s about the emotion it provokes, and most of the time the beat is something I can vibe to all just based on how I’m feeling that day.

SR: You’ve been classified in various genres including R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul, Pop, and Reggae-Pop; how are you maintaining being so diverse?

MEB: I don’t try to be; I honestly flow with the music. Music is like water, if you try to block it with something, it will find a way to seep through somewhere else.

SR: What can we expect for the rest of the year from you?

MEB: A new project! I can’t give too many details, but I’m working with a top producer behind major artists. I’m excited and have never been so excited to release anything, but I will be releasing the 1st single very soon.

Fans can check out Marc E. Bassy’s tour dates on his website. Keep checking back as we will get the scoop on the new project and single he will soon drop.
