In other Kanye news, the influential, 37-year-old artist received an honorary doctorate from the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago yesterday (May 11).
Standing in front of 900 graduates, Kanye stated that for the first time he felt the jitters that come with humility. ''I felt my nerves a bit, and I don't feel that feeling a lot. The nerves of humility and modesty when being honoured,” he said. “A humanization, a reality of being recognized. And all I thought as I sit here, kind of shaking a little bit is… I need to get rid of that feeling. I need to not be nervous.” He continued ''This honour is going to make your lives easier. Two reasons: You don't have to defend me as much. And, I'm gonna make all of our lives easier.''
As much backlash that Kanye gets, it's good to see his journey to humility is still in progress!
