She was able to preserve her artistry in its entirety while giving the fans what they’ve been yearning for — her in visual form with music they can sing in the mirror. Beyonce delivered and gave them all that and more. Not only did she eliminate the wait (because it was a surprise ⦠duh) but she also gave the fans an album that was not fragmented into singles. This helps to give the work a wholeness, which a lot of music has been missing since music met the internet.
What would Lauryn Hill’s ‘The Mis-education of Lauryn Hill’ be if it was just a collection of singles? We used to buy albums, not singles and B put her foot down and made that happen. She also gave us DOPE visuals, which again were reminiscent of older works from artists like Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and Madonna. Beyonce made this album a moment that many will always remember. Her ability to successful merge creativity with brilliant business moves helped to give us what might end up being an album that will change the way we deal with music in this internet age.
