Contrary to the IRS’ recent court filing to garnish his earnings and settle an alleged $800,000 in unpaid taxes, MC Hammer says he’s all paid up.

“I put over 5 million dollars in my account asked the IRS how much do you want? They put it in writing, I paid them and got a receipt,” Hammer writes on Twitter.

The “Can’t Touch This” rapper and wife, Stephanie, have been named in court papers filed by the IRS for allegedly failing to fork over income tax payments for 1996 and 1997.

Hammer’s legal woes with the IRS have been on-going since he filed for bankruptcy in 1996.

Do you remember the legendary rapper MC Hammer? He’s back in the news, but this time it’s not for his music. The IRS claims that he owes them $800K in back taxes, penalties, and interest. But don’t worry, Hammer is fighting back and saying that he doesn’t owe a dime.

In recent years, MC Hammer has been more known for his business ventures than his musical career. However, it seems like he still can’t escape financial troubles. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the IRS filed a federal tax lien against him for unpaid taxes from 1996-1997 and 2000-2004. They claim that he owes $798,033.48 in total.

But Hammer is disputing their claims and insisting that he doesn’t owe them anything at all. So what’s really going on here? Stay tuned to find out more about MC Hammer’s battle with the IRS.

The IRS’s Claims Against MC Hammer

You might be thinking, “Hey, MC Hammer, you don’t owe the IRS $800k?”Well, that’s exactly what he’s claiming in response to their accusations.

The rapper says he has already paid back all of his taxes and doesn’t owe anything more to the government agency. He even went on Twitter to express his frustration with the situation.

According to reports, the IRS claims that MC Hammer owes them over $800k in unpaid taxes from 1996 and 1997. However, Hammer says that he has proof of payment for those years and is willing to fight this claim in court if necessary.

In fact, he believes that this could be a case of mistaken identity or an error on the part of the IRS. If MC Hammer is right and he doesn’t actually owe the IRS any money, then this could be a huge relief for him both financially and personally.

It’s never easy dealing with tax issues or legal battles with government agencies, but hopefully things will work out in his favor. Only time will tell how this situation will ultimately play out.

MC Hammer’s Defense Against the IRS

Despite his financial troubles, it’s unclear if the rapper will be able to convince the government agency of his innocence.

MC Hammer has stated that he doesn’t owe the IRS $800k and has even gone as far as to claim that they owe him money instead. He argues that he was overtaxed in 1996 and 1997, which led to a tax refund of $1.4 million being withheld from him.

MC Hammer’s defense against the IRS also includes claims that he had trusted accountants who failed to properly handle his finances. He says that they made poor investments on his behalf and didn’t provide sufficient tax advice.

In response, the IRS alleges that MC Hammer spent excessive amounts on personal expenses such as cars, homes, and jewelry during this time period.

It remains to be seen whether or not MC Hammer’s defense will hold up in court. The outcome could have significant implications for both parties involved, with potential consequences ranging from financial penalties for MC Hammer to further scrutiny of the IRS’s handling of taxation issues.

Only time will tell how this legal battle will ultimately play out.

Conclusion

So there you have it – MC Hammer isn’t going down without a fight. Despite the IRS claiming he doesn’t owe them $800k, the rapper has come forward to defend himself and deny these allegations.

He’s stated that he doesn’t owe anything to the IRS and is confident in his position. It remains to be seen how this dispute will play out, but one thing’s for sure – MC Hammer isn’t afraid to stand up for himself when it comes to matters of finance.

Whether or not he ultimately prevails in this case, his tenacity and refusal to back down serves as an inspiration for anyone facing financial challenges or legal disputes.
