Arguably the most praised emcee in the last year, Kendrick Lamar took home the award for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist at 2013’s BET Awards. Along with his win, he also gave a moving acceptance speech:
“Glory to my family…You looking at me on TV, I came from that same city, food stamps…they call us the minority, Blacks, Latinos, but [you can have success] for sure if you keep love, God, and respect in your heart.”
He also adds: "If you keep love, God, respect, and hard work in your heart, you can do anything you want in life."
Congrats K. Dot!
