Grammy Award winner Rihanna and her team have hand-picked hit making producer Pharrell Williams to appear on the forthcoming U.S. launch of "Styled To Rock."
Confirmed late last week, Williams will act as a mentor, coaching twelve up-and-coming designers, who are being given an opportunity of the lifetime, creating unique pieces for A-list celebrities.
Executive produced by Rihanna, "Styled To Rock," a 10-episode series, is slated to air later this year on The Style Network.
"We are delighted to have Pharrell, who is a driving force in both the music industry and fashion world, serve as a mentor on ‘Styled to Rock," Salaam Coleman Smith, President, Style Media said in a statement. "Pharrell's unique aesthetic and commitment to individuality combined with Rihanna's vision for this series will enable our aspiring designers to hone their craft and learn from the very people who set the trends."
According to Style, “Styled to Rock” will give 12 up-and-coming designers the coveted opportunity to dress some of the biggest names in entertainment. Each week, challenges will push the designers to their creative limits when they are tasked with styling an A-list star. The celebrity guest-of-the-week will decide which designer best achieves their vision – and advances to the next level of competition. Faced with the threat of elimination, the remaining designers must meet with the three mentors to discuss where they fell short and ultimately, who will be sent home. In the end, one designer will be named the winner of “Styled to Rock.”
Pharrell's television credits include "The Voice" and "The X Factor (USA)." He mentored contestants on both shows.
