As filming for the original “R&B Divas” continues in Atlanta, TV One announces the names of cast members for the upcoming spinoff “R&B Divas: LA.” And the roll call is: Powerhouses Kelly Price, Chante Moore, and Lil’ Mo, Claudette Ortiz from the group City High, ex-girlfriend of Dr. Dre and Suge Knight singer Michel’le, and Dawn Robinson, formerly of En Vogue.
Cameras will follow around the women during their everyday lives as they cope with divorces and regain their musical identities. The show will follow Kelly Price as she continues on her singing and acting career, all while being mother of three and wife to husband/manager Jeffrey Rolle. Chante Moore will update fans on what she’s been up to: The recently divorced (from singer Kenny Lattimore) mother of two is preparing to star in a Broadway musical called Gospel Soul Rock n’ Roll and prepping a 2013 album. Lil Mo’s resume of collabs read like a book. Cameras will document her journey to re-gain that musical dominance after taking a hiatus to focus on her family in husband/manager Phillip Bryant and four children. Fans will be caught up to date on Claudette Ortiz of City High fame. The single mother of three is divorced from City High member Ryan Toby after a rough marriage, and is attempting to revive her music career. Find out what’s been going on with ex-En Vogue member Dawn Robinson; she’s focusing on forming another group called GLAMM and releasing a book. And lastly, tune in to witness Michel’le Toussaint's current life. She’s the ex-girlfriend of Dr. Dre and ex-wife of Suge Knight who released two albums, the first under Easy-E’s label. The show will reveal her life as she steps out back on the dating scene and writing a memoir.
TV One ordered eight episodes and production begins this month with a projected to airing in fall 2013.
