Michel’le
Known for her surprisingly squeaky speaking voice and her contrasting potent vocals, Michel’le seemed like one to watch when her debut, self-titled album Michel’le was released. It sold 2.7 million copies worldwide with the help of then-boyfriend Dr. Dre who produced the entire album.
After a break up and a sophomore album flop, all we heard of the singer was of her marriage to Death Row Record’s CEO/founder Suge Knight.
Since 2009, Michel’le has been doing a few performances until releasing her own single in December of that year titled “Freedom to Love” at the Annual House Full of Toys benefit concert at Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. She’s toured in 2010, was honored with a Legendary Songstress Award from The Females of Hip Hop Awards in 2011, and in 2012 has shared the stage with Fantasia, SWV, Da Brat and more on Tom Joyner’s “Fantastic Voyage Cruise.” Exploring the acting world, she also showcased her skill in Derrell Lawrence’s stage play “Do You Trust Your Best Friend?” According to her website she is in the studio working on her newest project to be released soon.
