Ameriie
In 2002 Amerie released her first studio album All I Have to generally good reviews. The Georgetown Alum’s biggest break however came from her 2005 album Touch, with the single “1 Thing,” which brought her to the forefront of the R&B scene. The Rich Harrison-produced song earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and ranked at twenty-two on Rolling Stone’s list for “100 Best Songs of he 2000s Decade.” Her third album Because I Love It had created little to no buzz as it was not even released in North America. She then left Columbia Records and signed with Island Def Jam, in which she released her fourth studio album In Love & War under. The album flopped hard and was her only album to not receive a single certification from the RIAA.
Amerie faded into the background after, with only news of an engagement to her manager Lenny Nicholson being the only news mentioned of the singer since her last project.
According to Amerie’s Twitter and Facebook accounts, she has been working on her fifth studio Cymatika Vol. I.
