Mariah Carey is happy to be a part of the new season of “American Idol,” but she wants to make it clear that this is not her entire life.
Speaking with Barbara Walters in an in depth interview aired on “Good Morning America” this morning, Carey made it clear that her true focus is on the twins, Morrocan and Monroe.
“I’m doing this show. This Is fun, but it’s not my life,” Carey tells Walters in video below.
Speaking of her daughter, Carey says “I call her Miss Monroe, and that kind of dictated her personality. She’s a total diva. She’s into jewelry. She’s fascinated by jewelry.”
As for Morrocan, aka Rock, Carey says “he’s my pal.”
“He’ll just watch movies with me. We’ve watched ‘Shrek’ I don’t know how many times. We watch movies all the time together, relax. He’s more chill.”

Mariah Carey is one of the music industry’s most celebrated artists and her latest venture as a judge on ‘American Idol’ has everyone talking. The iconic singer recently spoke candidly about her experience on the show in an interview, revealing some unexpected thoughts. From how she feels about being part of Idol to what it means for her career, here’s what we learned from Mariah Carey’s recent comments.

When it comes to reality television, there are few bigger names than American Idol. The singing competition series has been around since 2002 and continues to draw millions of viewers every week. As its success grows, so does the caliber of celebrity that serves as judges – and this season, they welcomed none other than global superstar Mariah Carey into their ranks.

Recently, the songstress sat down with Access Hollywood and opened up about her time on the show – and surprisingly enough, she seemed less than excited about it! While admitting that it was fun working alongside fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, she made it clear that Idol isn’t something she sees herself doing longterm; “It’s not my life,” said Mariah when asked if she could see herself judging for multiple seasons.

Mariah Carey’s Role On ‘American Idol’

Mariah Carey’s presence on American Idol has been one of the show’s biggest draws since she joined the judging panel in 2013. As a Grammy-winning singer and songwriter, her vast experience and expertise have made her an invaluable asset to the competition series. So it comes as no surprise that when asked about her time with Idol, Carey had nothing but positive things to say.

In an interview with Access Hollywood Live, Carey described how much fun she was having on the show: “I love being able to work with these young people…and kind of inspire them.” She went on to explain why this is such a fulfilling experience for her: “It feels great because I can give back from my experiences… It’s so gratifying.”

Despite enjoying her role as a judge, however, Carey is quick to point out that working on Idol does not define who she is or what she wants out of life. She clarified by saying, “This isn’t exactly where I thought I would end up….it’s fun and all that stuff but it’s not my life.” In other words, while enjoying every minute of being part of Idol, Carey also knows there are bigger dreams still waiting for her beyond the confines of reality TV.

Her Thoughts On The Show And Its Impact

Though Carey is not invested in Idol for life, she still has a great appreciation for the show and all that it has done. When asked about its influence on aspiring singers, Carey had nothing but praise: “It’s really impacted so many people’s lives…it gives young people an opportunity to be seen and heard. It can change your life overnight.’ She went on to explain how this platform allows people from different backgrounds to come together and share their talent with the world.

Carey also expressed her admiration for the team behind Idol as well as her fellow judges—Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, Katy Perry—saying they are like family to her now. With such close ties, it makes sense why she would consider staying on the series longer than initially planned. As she put it: ‘I do love being part of something that I think is important.”

In spite of everything Idol has given her, Carey maintains that at some point down the line she will move on from the show. After all, there’s only so much time one person can devote to reality television before other projects start calling their name. Still, until then Mariah will continue doing what she does best—inspiring contestants through music while having a good time along the way!

Conclusion

I. Reflection on Mariah’s experience:
Mariah Carey has been a judge and mentor on “American Idol” for the past five seasons, and it’s clear that she loves being part of something bigger than herself. She is able to share her expertise with aspiring singers who look up to her as an industry icon. Her time on “Idol” has allowed her to have fun while still keeping sight of what matters most in life – beyond show business.

II. Acknowledgement of Mariah’s impact:
Her presence on the show has undoubtedly had an influence on millions of viewers around the world, inspiring them to pursue their dreams and encouraging them not to limit themselves by getting too caught up in the trappings of fame. It’s refreshing to see someone like Mariah stay humble despite all she’s accomplished, recognizing that success should never be measured solely by money or awards.

III. Final thoughts:
It shows true strength and grace when someone can maintain perspective amid all the glitz and glamour surrounding Hollywood stardom. I’m sure we’ll continue seeing more inspiring moments from Mariah as she continues her journey throughout entertainment history.
