Ashanti to Release a New Album
Delays, delays, delays…somebody please help Ashanti drop an album. We miss her and the infamous Murder INC. Well, we miss Ashanti and we hope she puts together an album that balances thoughtful well written ballads with something that can have us rocking in the club. (Future and Drake are the only “singers” playing in the club now. We need some real R&B help.)
It’s a new year and R&B fans everywhere are excited to see what the genre has in store for us. It’s been an amazing few years of great music, but there is always room for improvement. With that being said, let’s take a look at 10 things that could potentially improve R&B in 2013. We need more ground-breaking tracks, innovative producers, and lyrical content that will make listeners think twice about their feelings on love and life. There should also be collaborations between some of our favorite artists as well as unexpected duets from established singers we know and love. Let’s dive into the list of ideas that can help keep R&B alive this coming year!
Innovative Sounds
R&B music has been around for a long time, and it’s clear that the genre needs something new to keep fans interested. In 2013, fresh sounds need to be explored in order to stay relevant. To start off, producers should utilize more experimental elements such as synthesizers and drum machines. By incorporating these soundscapes into their beats, they can create something truly unique. Not only will this make the music stand out from other genres, but it could also open up opportunities for collaboration with electronic artists who are looking to break out of the club-scene mold.
Lyrics should be taken further too; instead of relying on tried and true love stories, singers should try delving into topics like politics or social issues. This would give listeners something different and unexpected while still maintaining an R&B feel. Additionally, vocalists should experiment with harmonies and cadences to add flavor to their tracks – this could help them appeal even more to those outside the traditional audience base.
The possibilities for innovation in R&B are endless if producers take risks within their creations. Whether it means utilizing unusual instrumentation or singing about unconventional topics, there are many ways for artists to push boundaries without compromising quality or soulfulness. Ultimately, by exploring uncharted territory in 2013, R&B musicians have the opportunity to make some of its most memorable songs yet.
New Talent
In order to keep R&B music at the forefront of the industry, new talent needs to be given a chance. With so many incredible upcoming artists out there, it’s important for producers and labels to recognize their potential and give them an opportunity to shine. By investing in up-and-comers, they can help ensure that fresh ideas continue to drive innovation within the genre.
It’s also beneficial for established acts to collaborate with these newcomers as well. This could lead to some truly unique collaborations that will stand out from other releases and appeal to both old fans and those who are just discovering R&B. Additionally, by having more widely recognized names featured on tracks alongside lesser known artists, this could introduce consumers to different sounds while still giving them something familiar.
Overall, 2013 is an excellent year for R&B – if producers take risks and discover new talent then there’s no limit as far as what can be achieved. From revitalizing tired beats to introducing unheard voices – this is the perfect time for everyone in the scene to come together and make something special.
Conclusion
As we enter the new year of 2013, R&B needs to be as fresh and innovative as ever. We need more talented artists that can bring something unique to the table. It’s time for established stars to step up their game and create music that stands out from the rest. My hope is that this year will give us a little something extra in terms of originality and creativity.
