It’s funny that artists with R&B roots get popular and become Pop. Beyonce, Ne-Yo, Usher, Chris Brown and Frank Ocean are all artists that have perfected their craft and made it so universal that they transcend genres. In many ways, they are like Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson’s sound is deeply rooted in R&B, but he made music for the world that can not be bound by one genre. The Pop artist of today with their heavy R&B influence provides support for their R&B brethren.
