The Movement

You have to put in work to be the leader of a movement. Kendrick Lamar has been doing his thing since 2003 when he came out with Youngest Headd Nigga in Charge. He is also a part of one of the hottest music movements to come out of the city of Compton since NWA. He is a member of hip hop super group Black Hippy, which includes West Coast rappers and label mates Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q & Ab-Soul. They are unapologetically reppin’ a coast that for a time had been dormant nationally. Kendrick and the Black Hippies have wowed audiences and created a dynamic culture that is real to their hood. Kendrick has also gained the respect of his Hip Hop peers from not only the West Side, but throughout the rap world. Dr. Dre, The Game, Drake, Young Jeezy, Talib Kweli, Busta Rhymes, E-40, Warren G, Bun B, Tech N9ne and Lil Wayne are all artists that are rocking with Lamar. It seems Lamar is the head of his class as we look back to his inclusion in XXL Magazine’s annual Freshman Class, that featured CyHi the Prynce, Meek Mill, Mac Miller, Yelawolf, Lil B, Big K.R.I.T. and Diggy Simmons among others. We can only wait and see how much of a leader in this new hip hop movement he becomes.

Kendrick Lamar is one of the most highly respected and beloved hip hop artists in today’s music scene. From his unique flow to his thought-provoking lyrics, he is considered by many as a lyrical genius and ‘dopest emcee’ alive. With over 20 Grammy Awards nominations and 12 wins, it’s easy to see why Kendrick has gained so much respect from both fans and critics alike. This article will discuss five reasons why Kendrick Lamar is one of the top rappers in the game right now.

From his soulful beats to his intricate rhymes, Kendrick has made an undeniable impression on the rap industry since releasing his first studio album back in 2011. His songs often touch upon social issues such as racism, police brutality, mental health and more, making him stand out amongst other popular artists who tend to focus on superficial topics like fame and materialism. He is also known for collaborating with some of the biggest names in hip hop including Beyoncé, Drake and SZA – just to name a few!

Kendrick Lamar continues to make waves in the music world as he takes home awards after awards for each project he releases. It’s no wonder that people are calling him one of if not THE dopest rapper alive today! In this piece we’ll take a look at five key aspects of Kendrick’s career which have earned him such great admiration from listeners around the globe. So without further ado let’s dive into what makes this artist so special!

Creative Lyricism

Kendrick Lamar has established himself as one of the most creative and influential lyricists in contemporary hip-hop. His unique style blends elements from a variety of influences, ranging from classic rap to spoken word poetry. His lyrics are often layered with complex metaphors and thought-provoking imagery that reflect his own life experiences and observations on society at large. He is not afraid to be politically charged or outspoken when it comes to issues he believes deserve attention.

His ability to masterfully craft stories within his songs also sets him apart from many other emcees today. Each verse reveals something new about Kendrick’s mindset, worldview, and struggles; they are packed with emotion and depth that few rappers can match. Even if you don’t agree with everything he says, you still have to admire how skillfully he expresses himself through his artistry.

In addition to being an amazing lyricist, Kendrick Lamar is also highly respected for the way he carries himself throughout his career. Whether in interviews or performances, he always speaks with humility and respect for those around him – traits which truly set him apart from other artists today. With all these qualities combined, it’s no wonder why so many people consider Kendrick Lamar one of the “dopest emcees” alive.

Innovative Production

In addition to his lyrical prowess, Kendrick Lamar is also renowned for his innovative production. His music has a distinct sound and style that stands out from the crowd due to its complexity and diversity. He often incorporates elements of jazz, soul, funk, and other genres into his beats in order to create something truly unique. From heavy basslines to intricate percussion patterns, he creates vibrant and memorable musical landscapes through clever sampling techniques.

Kendrick’s work with producer Sounwave has been particularly influential in pushing rap music forward by experimenting with new sounds. Their collaborative efforts have produced some of the most interesting sonic palettes heard on any hip-hop album today; each track feels like a journey into unknown territory as they explore undiscovered avenues in production. With their boundary-pushing approach to creating music, it’s no wonder why so many people consider them one of the best duos ever in this genre.

Kendrick Lamar’s commitment to innovation makes him stand out amongst today’s emcees. Not only does he push the boundaries artistically with creative lyricism, but he also takes risks sonically when producing his tracks. The result is an eclectic mix of hip-hop styles that will continue inspiring others for generations to come – solidifying him as one of the dopest emcees alive today.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Kendrick Lamar is one of the dopest emcees today for many reasons. His creative lyricism and innovative production are just two of them. He has an uncanny ability to tell stories with his words that draw listeners in and leave them wanting more. His beats have a unique sound that stands out from other artists, which keeps people coming back for more. On top of all this, he is unapologetic in his music and message; he speaks truthfully about social issues without ever sugarcoating it or trying to please anyone but himself. It’s no wonder why so many fans consider him one of the best rappers alive today. As long as Kendrick continues making music, there will always be a place for him at the top of hip-hop culture.
