Rick Ross’ hard work has made its way onto the mainstream platform. After a strong movement by his Maybach Music Group empire in 2012, which includes his successful album, God Forgives, I Don’t, a MMG headlining tour, huge success from his artists Wale and Meek Mill, GQ has named the mogul in the making “Bawse of the Year 2012.”

Below are a few excerpts of Ross’ chat with the publication.

On 2012…”It’s been a power-player year.”

Being Named the 10th Most Powerful Man in Hip Hop (The Source)…”I’m the typa dude who feels like he could take number two next year.”

Why Not Right Away?…”The moves I make, I ain’t never in no rush.”

Advice For The Ladies…”Ladies, you all should just love me. Let’s all have a beautiful year, let’s get this money.”

Rick Ross is having quite the year. Not only has he been busy performing at sold out shows across the United States, but now GQ magazine has named him “Bawse of the Year 2012.” This honor comes after a long and successful career as one of hip-hop’s biggest stars. The announcement from GQ recognizes Rick Ross for his accomplishments in music, business ventures and style throughout 2012.

This recognition is well deserved, especially when you consider that Rick Ross released not one but two albums this year – God Forgives I Don’t and Rich Forever – with both debuting at number one on Billboard charts. His latest single “Diced Pineapples” featuring Drake was also a huge hit among fans. In addition to all this musical success, he’s also had great success with his Maybach Music Group label; many artists have joined up with MMG recently, bringing even more attention to himself and the company.

There’s no doubt it was an amazing year for Rick Ross, who started off as a Miami drug dealer before becoming one of rap’s most popular figures today. Now that he’s been awarded “Bawse of the Year” by GQ Magazine, it looks like we can expect even bigger things from him in 2013!

Overview Of Accomplishments

Rick Ross has been a prominent figure in the rap and hip-hop industry since his rise to fame back in 2006. He’s continued to make waves with hit singles, albums, collaborations, and more. For 2012, GQ named him their ‘Bawse of the Year.’ This honor is well deserved due to all he achieved throughout that year.

In early 2012, Rick released his fifth studio album God Forgives, I Don’t which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The lead single from this album “Touch’N You” featuring Usher was certified gold by RIAA for selling over 500 thousand copies. With this success came a series of awards as well such as Best Music Video award at BET Hip Hop Awards and Top Streaming Song (Video) at Billboard Music Awards both for “Diced Pineapples” off the same album.

Also during 2012, Rick joined forces with MMG label mates Meek Mill and Wale for two major tours: Self Made Tour and Dreamchasers Tour II. Together they sold out arenas across America while raising awareness about Maybach Music Group brand. As if that wasn’t enough to prove how influential he is in music world today, Rick also managed to score multiple guest appearances on various other artists tracks including Lil Wayne’s Dedication 4 mixtape project where he appeared on every song except one.

Rick Ross certainly earned himself Bawse of the Year title for an incredible string of accomplishments in 2012 alone — it’s no wonder GQ saw fit to recognize him!

Recognition From Gq Magazine

Rick Ross’s remarkable achievements in 2012 were duly recognized by GQ Magazine, who declared him ‘Bawse of the Year.’ This honor was bestowed upon him to commemorate his many successes as an artist, businessman, and entrepreneur. It is also a testament to how much influence he has had on hip-hop culture over the last few years.

The magazine stated that “Ross continues to be one of rap’s most powerful figures. He released one of his best albums with God Forgives, I Don’t, sold out arenas all across America while touring with Meek Mill and Wale, and contributed heavily to other artists’ projects—all while continuing his entrepreneurial endeavors.” GQ further added that Rick Ross “embodies what it means to be a successful rapper: making money off music but never forgetting where you came from or who helped get you there.” This recognition is yet another example of how respected Rick Ross is within the industry for both his musical prowess and business acumen.

It goes without saying that this award was well deserved. As an icon in the world of hip-hop today, Rick Ross showed no signs of slowing down in 2012; instead he continued to build upon his empire with every opportunity presented before him. His hard work paid off when he was named Bawse of the Year by GQ Magazine – a true representation of success!

Conclusion

In conclusion, Rick Ross has had an incredible year. It’s no surprise that GQ Magazine chose him as the “Bawse of the Year 2012.” His accomplishments throughout the past 12 months have been immense; he released his fifth studio album God Forgives, I Don’t, earned four Grammy nominations and collaborated with a number of high-profile artists.

All these successes are even more remarkable given that they come after such a difficult time in his life when he was facing numerous legal issues. Through it all, however, Rick Ross has emerged as one of hip hop’s most formidable forces. He is truly deserving of this recognition from GQ Magazine and will surely continue to make great music in 2013.

Rick Ross’ success story proves that anything is possible no matter what obstacles you may be faced with. With hard work and dedication, anyone can achieve their goals and dreams. This kind of determination should serve as inspiration for us all – if there’s something we want to accomplish then nothing should stop us from getting there!
