Lil Wayne to Retire From Rap and Concentrate on Sports

Lil Wayne may be throwing in the rapping towel for a little while…(since we sincerely doubt it will be a full retirement).

In a recent interview with MTV News, the hip hop heavyweight claims his upcoming ‘Tha Carter V’ album will be his last outing. “I know y’all want me around for a little bit, [but] Carter V is my last album,” Said Weezy. “Man, I’ve been rappin’ since I was 8 years old. I’m 30 now, man. That’s a long time, man.”

He added: “When I love to do something, I’m fully focused on it and it only. And music sometimes is not that ‘it’.”

So what will Wayne do with his free time? “I’d be a skater/sports analyst. My day job will probably be sports analyst and I’ll skate all night instead of being in the studio all night,” he said.

“Skating is a world, it’s a world… it’s a life, it’s a world, it’s, it’s own and I didn’t know that,” he adds. “I thought it was four wheels and piece of wood. I didn’t know that. Now I know it’s a world and I just wanna be vital in that world.”

Outside of skating and his TRUKFIT clothing line, Wayne is also looking to launch a venture with rapper Nelly. “My big brother Nelly and I… him and I we got a sports show coming out. We don’t have a station, we’re just doin’ it ourselves right now,” says Wayne.

‘Tha Carter V’ will arrive late 2013 after Wayne releases ‘I Am Not a Human Being II’ on February 19.

Must be one of those Jay-Z type retirements!

Lil Wayne, the multi-platinum selling rapper who has been a fixture in hip hop for over two decades, is ready to hang up his microphone and retire from rap. After an illustrious career that has seen him become one of the biggest names in music, he plans on transitioning into sports. This move comes as no surprise to many fans, but it’s still shocking news nonetheless! The question now becomes: what can we expect from Lil Wayne when he enters the world of sports? In this article, we’ll explore how this new venture will shape his legacy and what impact it could have on other hip hop artists looking to make similar moves. So buckle up and get ready for one wild ride – because once you enter the world of Lil Wayne, anything is possible!

Overview Of Music Career

It’s been a wild ride, but Lil Wayne has announced that he’ll be retiring from the rap game to focus on his sports career. After 15 years in the industry and numerous awards, he’s decided it’s time to hang up the mic. While many may be surprised by this sudden change of plans, others can’t help but feel excited for what lies ahead. Here’s an overview of his music career before he makes this transition into professional sports.

Lil Wayne is widely regarded as one of the most influential rappers ever. With nine studio albums under his belt and countless features, he boasts some impressive accomplishments. He was awarded four Grammy Awards throughout his career and recently received Billboard Music Awards recognition for being named Top Artist of 2018. His songs have topped charts around the world and are still played today. It goes without saying that he will definitely leave an indelible mark on hip-hop culture forevermore.

Not only has Lil Wayne worked with other legendary artists such as Kanye West and Eminem, but also left behind a legacy of iconic verses which will continue to inspire generations to come. He has broken barriers within the rap scene while paving the way for emerging talent over the course of a decade-and-a-half long career – making him one of the longest standing figures in hip hop history. Despite all these amazing achievements, however, it seems like it’s now time for him to move onto something new – namely, professional athletics.

Focus On Athletic Pursuits

Lil Wayne has always been passionate about sports, with basketball being one of his favorites. After years of hard work and dedication to music, he is now ready to shift gears and bring this same commitment to athletics. He will be joining the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks in a player-coach capacity, as well as taking part in various charity events worldwide.

This new venture will undoubtedly come with some challenges – but it’s nothing that Lil Wayne can’t handle. His relentless determination and drive have served him well over the past 15 years; these are traits that no doubt will help him succeed on the court and beyond. As for how his fans feel? Many are sad to see him go from rap – but they understand and support his decision wholeheartedly.

His journey into professional sports may take him away from hip hop, but it doesn’t mean we won’t be hearing from him anymore. Whether through interviews or special appearances, Lil Wayne is sure to stay connected with those who’ve followed him along each step of the way. It’ll certainly be exciting to watch what lies ahead for this multi-talented artist turned athlete!

Conclusion

I. Summary of Music Career
For over two decades, Lil Wayne has been one of the most influential and successful rappers in hip hop history. His success is evident in his record sales, awards, and collaborations with some of the biggest names in rap. He has consistently brought fresh new sounds to the genre and has pushed it forward with every album he releases. It’s no secret that Weezy loves sports as much as music, so it comes as no surprise that he’s recently decided to retire from rap to focus on his athletic pursuits instead.

II. Focus on Athletic Pursuits
Lil Wayne has a long-standing passion for basketball and football, but now he wants to take it up a notch by pursuing professional opportunities in these areas. He already works closely with various NBA players and teams, giving him an insider’s perspective into how things work at the highest level. By dedicating himself fully to this new endeavor, he hopes to make an even bigger impact on the game than he did through his music career.

III. Conclusion
It’s not easy saying goodbye to a beloved art form like rap after more than 20 years of dedicated service; however, I’m sure we all understand why Lil Wayne feels compelled to move onto something else right now. Even though we’ll miss hearing his unique voice on our radios and streaming services, there are exciting possibilities ahead for him if he decides to pursue athletics professionally—which I’m sure many people will be rooting for him to do! Good luck Weezy!
