A strong line up of recording artists including Jennifer Hudson and Usher will perform in honor of the late Whitney Houston next month.
Set to take the stage during “We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute To Whitney Houston,” they join previously announced act Celine Dion.
An hour-long television special, following an October taping at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, the event will air November 16 on CBS.
“We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute To Whitney Houston” will feature interviews and performances from various artists and will include Houston’s “most memorable performances,” reports CBS.
Additional performers are slated to be announced at a later date.

The world is still reeling from the loss of Whitney Houston, one of music’s greatest voices. To pay tribute to her legacy and influence on popular culture, two of today’s most iconic singers – Jennifer Hudson and Usher – have come together for a special performance. The ‘Salute to Whitney Houston’ Special will be airing this week, giving fans an opportunity to reflect on the life and career of Ms. Houston in a unique way.

Jennifer Hudson has had quite the journey since she first auditioned for American Idol back in 2004. She went on to win a Grammy Award for her debut album Dreamgirls, while also establishing herself as a powerful actress in films like Sex and the City 2 and Dreamgirls itself. Now she stands alongside Usher as they join forces to honor Whitney Houston with their own renditions of some of her biggest hits such as “I Will Always Love You” and “How Will I Know.”

Usher has been just as successful throughout his career, having sold over 23 million albums worldwide since 1994 when he was first signed by LaFace Records at age 14! He too won numerous awards including 8 Grammys, making him one of the top selling artists of all time. He brings his signature style to this special show which promises plenty of emotion-filled performances that will surely leave people moved by its beauty.

Overview Of Performance

Jennifer Hudson and Usher paid tribute to the late Whitney Houston with a special performance at the 2021 Grammy Awards. The two R&B superstars came together to honor one of music’s greatest voices in an emotional salute that left viewers around the world moved by their heartfelt rendition.

The moving medley began with Jennifer singing “I Will Always Love You”, her powerful voice filling the stage as she belted out the classic track. She then switched gears and shifted into Usher’s hit song “U Got It Bad”, which he sang alongside her before launching into his own solo performance of “Confessions Part II”. Both singers put on passionate performances that showcased their vocal prowess and had everyone inside Los Angeles’ Staples Center mesmerized.

The touching tribute was capped off with a beautiful duet between Jennifer and Usher for Whitney’s iconic dance anthem “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)”. As they nailed every note of the beloved track, it became clear why they were chosen to pay homage to such an incredible artist whose legacy will live on forever.

Star-Studded Tribute

Adding to the star-studded tribute, a number of special guests took part in honoring Whitney Houston. John Legend joined Jennifer and Usher on stage for “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)”, while Smokey Robinson added his own contribution with an emotional rendition of “My Girl”. Other notable guest appearances included Anderson .Paak performing “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and H.E.R., who sang record producer Babyface’s classic hit “Exhale”.

The entire performance was nothing short of spectacular as it showcased both past and present musical talents coming together to honor one of music’s greatest icons. Not only did viewers get to witness some stellar singing from all involved, but they also got to experience how Whitney still influences modern artists today. Each artist put their unique spin on her songs, highlighting just how timeless her work truly is.

In addition to the performances themselves, there were several touching moments throughout the night that paid homage to Houston’s incredible legacy. From Alicia Keys’ heartfelt opening speech about what she meant to everyone in attendance, to the group performance at the end accompanied by projections of images of the late singer–it was clear that those involved wanted this segment to be something special and memorable for fans everywhere.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Salute to Whitney Houston special was an emotional and memorable night. This performance will be remembered for its powerful performances from Jennifer Hudson and Usher, but also for all of the other amazing artists who were there in honor of a fallen star. It really showed how much love and respect everyone had for her, as well as what an incredible talent she was. The event served as a reminder that although we have lost such an icon, her memory will never be forgotten. We may not have Whitney with us anymore, but this touching tribute ensures that her spirit lives on in our hearts forever.
