R&B/Pop recording artist, songwriter and actress Jordin Brianna Sparks aka Jordin Sparks has won the hearts of Americans. She has been a winner of the coveted American Idol Contest, acted on the silver screen and on Broadway and she continues to sell millions of records. She sparkles and is a diva in the making. Here are a couple of reasons Jordin Sparks is so special.
Next Diva â Jordin Sparks is a diva in the making because she has been able to conquer all obstacles in her way. In 2012, Sparks was ranked at number 92 on VH1’s list of the “100 Greatest Women in Music”. She is determined, fearless, daring and relentless. “Walk a mile in my shoes, or in my stilettos, if you dare and see what happens,” says Sparks.
America’s Idol â Jordin was destined for greatness. She won the sixth season of American Idol at the tender age of 17. She became the youngest winner in American Idol history and is still the most recent female to win American Idol. She is also one of the most successful American Idol contestants of all time, selling 1.3 million albums and 9.8 million singles in the United States alone.
Beauty â After losing 50 pounds, Jordin continues to redefine her look. Part of her beauty is not physical; it is her positive inner spirit. (She was just as sexy thicker.) People magazine named her one of 2012’s “Most beautiful at Every Age.”
Multi-talented – Ms. Sparks is a singer as well as an actress. Her self-titled debut album was released in 2007, which spawned two top-ten singles, “Tattoo” and “No Air” (with Chris Brown), on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum. Sparks was able to sell more than two million copies worldwide. “No Air” is currently the third highest-selling single by any American Idol contestant, selling over three million digital copies in the US. The song garnered Jordin her first Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Collaboration. Sparks’ second studio album Battlefield was released in 2009, which debuted at number seven on the US Billboard 200. Sparks has been pursuing her career in acting and Broadway, and designing perfumes. She made guest appearances on several television series, beginning with The Suite Life On Deck in 2009, and later in Big Time Rush in 2010. That same year, Sparks made her Broadway debut in the musical, In The Heights, starring as Nina Rosario. On August 17, she will make her feature film debut in a remake of the musical film, Sparkle, which also stars Whitney Houston, Derek Luke, Carmen Ejogo and Tika Sumpter.
Entrepreneur â Jordin Sparks is young, but she understands the importance of ownership. In October 2010, Sparks released her first perfume, Because of You…, which was followed by her second perfume, Fascinate, in March 2012. These perfume lines are the beginning of her entrepreneurial endeavors.
