Rihanna is showing off her island roots with her new hairstyle. During her performance on last nights (May 23) American Idol finale show, the 24-year-old pop singer debut her new Bob Marley-inspired dreadlocks while performing her single “Where Have You Been?”
Rihanna initially gave fans a sneak peek at the dreads earlier in the day after tweeting, “Wake bake shake dem dreads,” which included a photo with the locks laying over her face.
We’re sure many folks won’t be feeling it, but it’s probably short term, since she insisted it was a childhood dream.
When asked on Twitter about the new look, she replied: “their HOT! ;)” since I was 14, but mama Fent’z wasn’t havin it! Hehe.”
