NEW RELEASES: SWV’s “I Missed Us” & K’Jon “Moving On”

Independent releases lead this week’s new albums including new CDs from veteran R&B group SWV and son of the Motor City, K’Jon.

SWV – I Missed Us (Mass Appeal Entertainment/E1 Music)

After fifteen years, Cheryl “Coko” Clemons, Tamara “Taj” Johnson-George and Leanne “Lelee” Lyons finally delivers a new studio album to their awaiting fan base. On the project, the group did not attempt to sway from their 90s style by jumping on the latest trends, instead they stuck with their signature sound. The lead single “Co-Sign,” produced by Lamb, exemplified Sisters with Voices’ identity.

The album features production from accomplished music producers Bryan M. Cox and Jazze Pha, in addition, it features collaborations with up and coming artists Brianna Perry and A.X.

“It’s a great feeling to be back recording together again! Something special always happens when we come together,” says members Coko, Lelee and Taj.

K’Jon – Moving On (Shanachie Entertainment)

K’Jon garnered wide spread attention for his hit song “On The Ocean,” which earned him a #1 radio hit and set the record for the longest run on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip Hop Song, surpassing Usher’s single “You Make Me Wanna” and Mary J. Blige’s single “Be Without You.”

Now, after leaving major record label Universal Republic, K’Jon is reconstructing a bridge to express the full range of his artistry for listeners. His new album ‘Moving On,’ is a project he argued with himself about in the studio, took pointers from his kids and handled the business matters to ensure you not only know his music, but you build a personal relationship with him as an artist.
