Ashanti Reveals New Album Title and Release Date

Ashanti is ready to make another mark on music. The Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter has set April 17th for her forthcoming new album via label Written Entertainment/eOne. The set, reportedly titled ‘Braveheart,’ is led by the first single “The Woman You Love” featuring rapper Busta Rhymes and is produced by Jerry Wonder. A video for the song, which is climbing the charts, will be available soon.

“We know that music changes and three years is a lot of time,” Ashanti stated recently about finding success with her new project. “I have my own record label, called Written Entertainment, which I am super excited about. Being with the majors it taught me that I need a way bigger percentage than what they were giving me. Everything (now) is digital. I’m cutting my own deal with iTunes. It’s about learning the behind the scenes to become a better businesswoman.”

Ashanti’s self-titled debut album landed atop the Billboard 200 and R&B album charts. The set went gold the first week, moving 504,000 copies, granting her a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. She has since released three albums, achieving multi-platinum success.

In related news, the below image is said to be the cover for Ashanti’s upcoming effort, but there has been no confirmation from her or her label about the artwork, which sees her dressed like a warrior.
