Teddy Pendergrass (March 26, 1950 – January 13, 2010)
R&B soul singer and songwriter from Philadelphia passed away at the age of fifty-nine due to respiratory failure. Pendergrass first rose to fame as the lead singer of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes in the 70's before his successful solo career at the end of the decade. The groups top hit was "If You Don't Know Me by Now," it reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100.
