Teena Marie (March 5, 1956 – December 26, 2010)
Marie was a protegee of funk artist Rick James. She played rhythm guitar, keyboards and congas, and also wrote, produced and sang. Her biggest hit was "Lover Girl" off the album Starchild, her best selling album. Other songs you may remember by her are "Oh La La La", "Square Biz" and "Portuguese Love."
