‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star Kandi Burruss’ late ex-fiance AJ Jewell was reportedly in a power struggle with his alleged attacker, a man sources believe had a problem with Jewell taking over the Atlanta area club Body Tap. In an Atlanta Journal Constitution report issued earlier this week, sources say Jewell invested in all or part of Body Tap just days before his death and had a disagreement with employee Frederick Richardson. “They had some words about a business decision,” says Lt. Keith Meadows, head of Atlanta Policeâs homicide unit. “It seems like it was a struggle for power over the club.” As previously reported on Singersroom, Richardson has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. While there has been much speculation surrounding the club, Lt. Meadows confirmed that Richardson was a manager at the establishment. “Apparently they just didnât like each other,” Meadows said after gathering testimony from witnesses who also called the fight ‘one on one’. “A.J. felt like he deserved more respect from Richardson and it wasnât given to him.” Jewell, who often appeared alongside ex-fiance Kandi Burruss on the BRAVO reality series ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ died Friday.
