In shocking news, ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star Kandi Burruss’ fiance AJ was killed in Atlanta, Georgia Friday evening. According to Atlanta news sources, AJ Jewell died shortly after a fight at Atlanta’s Body Tap club on Marietta Boulevard. Police say Jewell suffered a severe head injury during the fight and was taken to Piedmont Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators had no suspects in custody at press time. Jewell, appearing on BRAVO’s ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ with fiance and singer/songwriter Kandi Burruss, had become the talk of numerous blogs online both prior to and during the latest season of the hit BRAVO reality series. In a recent interview with Essence, Burruss claimed that she and Jewell were taking a “break,” temporarily calling off plans for a wedding. Burruss, speaking of the news on Twitter, told fans “Iâm bout 2 give my swollen eyes some rest now. I just wanted to say thanks 2 everyone for their prayers. I gotta get up & go 2 my uncleâs funeral. I could never in a million years imagine this happening. Please pray for AJâs children, thatâs who im the most concerned 4. Im just in one of those moods where I dont wanna talk, I dont wanna b held & told its gonna b ok. I just wanna cry myself 2 sleep, alone.” Jewell leaves behind six children.
