Patti Labelle, The O’Jays, Fantasia and Robin Thicke are among the list of performers lined up for a phenomenal mashup of the best in ‘old’ school soul and today’s chart topping R&B/soul at the 42nd Annual Hampton Jazz Festival !

Set to kick off Friday, June 26, the 42nd Annual Hampton Jazz Festival wraps up the month we’ve dubbed Black Music Month with an amazing line up on a picturesque waterfront setting.

Taking place in Hampton, Virginia, also home to the historic (HBCU) Hampton University, the 2009 Hampton Jazz Festival is the perfect destination for a family vacation blended with both entertainment and history.

In addition to taking in performances from Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, George Benson, Ledisi, and Michael McDonald enjoy several historic sights in Hampton including the Hampton University Museum, home of six historic landmarks including the Booker T. Washington Memorial Garden and Statue as well as Emancipation Oak where Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation was read.

Hampton, also known for its amazing waterfront and gardens, is home to the Virginia Air and Space Center, in addition to the Buckroe Beach on Chesapeake Bay.
