Former Floetry Member Natalie ‘The Floacist’ Stewart Preps ‘Freedom’

Natalie ‘The Floacist’ Stewart, one half of the duo Floetry is spreading her wings with a new project entitled “Freedom..xx,” due early 2009. “Freedom xx” becomes Stewart’s first official album release under her independent label, Spirit Mother Music and second release since the much-talked-about disbanding of the group Floetry. Stewart’s effort will be preceded by a poetic and conceptual album entitled “The Offering..xx” which will be a preview of sorts for the “Freedom.xx” release. Both albums according to Rap Up, are to be packed with mind-opening soul, R&B and new age music flavored by the singer’s personal background. “I had to find a new language, to be able to articulate the experiences that I was having—a language that recognizes the reality of change without seeking an avenue of victimization. And I used that new language to create this album,” says Stewart. Floetry’s final album “Flo’Ology” was released in 2005.
