The new ‘Beauty and the Beast’ film seem like it’s going to be amazing, judging from the new trailer. The stand out thus far are the lively animations and fresh sounds, notably John Legend and Ariana Grande’s rendition of the titular song.
The theme song, previously sung by Angela Lansbury in the animated film and by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson on the soundtrack, plays about a minute-and-a-half into the final trailer for Beauty and the Beast. The song, written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken for the 1991 film, won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a Grammy Award that year.
The ‘Beauty and the Beast’ remake stars Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast. Ewan McGregor (Lumiere), Stanley Tucci (Cadenza), Audra McDonald, Ian McKellen (Cogsworth) and Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts) voice the castle’s memorable objects and Luke Evans and Josh Gad star as Gaston and his sidekick Le Fou.
In the trailer, we glimpse Belle carrying books around her quaint village, Gaston admiring his own reflection, Beast protecting Belle from wolves and the castle’s servants.
‘Beauty and the Beast’ arrives in theaters on March 17, while the film’s soundtrack is set to release March 10.
