Two of hip-hop’s most storied groups, Wu-Tang Clan and D-Block, will collaborate on a new album to be released through eOne Music. “Wu-Block,” the new street album, will be released on October 9th, 2012 and features Ghostface Killah, Sheek Louch, Method Man, Raekwon The Chef, GZA, Jadakiss, Masta Killah, and Styles P.

Ghostface says, “This is a unique street album combination like carnation milk with oatmeal. And a dash of cinammon. We got killing on lock. It’s like assisination day – nothing but darts being thrown. It’s like Batman and Robin shit. It’s real street sh*t for the fans. They’ve been thirstin’ for this.”

Sheek adds, “Other people trying to sell albums together. Those are radio albums. This shit is for the street.”

“Wu-Block” mixes the rap style, lyrics, beats, imagery and ideology of the 9 member Wu-Tang clan with the flow, underground star power, hard hitting bars, street story telling and bass rattling sounds of D-Block.

The first official single off the 12-track album, “Union Square,” features Ghostface Killah and Sheek Louch. Available on iTunes, the drum heavy single is named after the landmark New York City intersection . Listen to “Union Square” below.

The next single, “Stick ’em Up,” featuring Sheek Louch, Ghostface Killah and Jadakiss, will be serviced to radio shortly.

“This is a huge chapter in the story of New York Hip Hop,” explains eOne president Alan Grunblatt. “To have two of rap’s biggest groups combining talents means groundbreaking music that fans can enjoy.”

Additionally, Wu-Block will tour across America, headlining dates and performing at select Rock The Bells shows.

Hip-hop fans have been buzzing with excitement since the announcement of a collaborative album between two of rap’s most iconic groups. Wu-Tang Clan and D-Block, known for their distinct East Coast styles, are teaming up to bring us the unique sound we’ve all been waiting for: “Wu-Block.” This record will be the first time these titans of hip hop have ever come together on an album, making it one of the most highly anticipated releases in recent memory.

For over twenty years now, Wu-Tang has been innovating and pushing boundaries within the genre, crafting classic albums like ‘Enter The 36 Chambers’ and ‘The W’ that stand among some of hip hop’s greatest works. Meanwhile, D-Block’s roster features some of the hardest hitting emcees around including Jadakiss and Sheek Louch who are no strangers to success either.

This collaboration is sure to bring something special to both diehard fans and casual listeners alike; its combination of gritty street tales backed by hard beats promises to make this album a modern day classic. With production from RZA as well as guest appearances from other big names in music, “Wu Block” is set to become one of the biggest projects released this year.

Collaboration Overview

In 2012, Wu-Tang Clan and D-Block linked up to create what would become a classic in the hip-hop world: their collaborative album, “Wu-Block.” This joint effort was an exciting collaboration between two of rap’s most iconic groups. It brought together some of the best emcees from both sides of the tracks, resulting in an epic fifteen-track experience that showcased each group’s unique style.

The album featured verses from several members of Wu-Tang Clan including Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon The Chef, GZA & Inspectah Deck. In addition to these long time veterans, newer artists such as Cappadonna and Streetlife also got their chance to shine on various tracks. On the other side of things, D-Block had its own heavy hitters contributing like Sheek Louch and Styles P who provided some great lyrical content for fans to enjoy. Both crews meshed well and created something truly special with this project.

With production handled by established names such as RZA, Hi Tek and DJ Premier it was hard not to have high expectations for this album. Luckily all those involved delivered on every level making this one an instant classic with timeless music that will continue to be enjoyed years down the line.

Track Listing

The ‘Wu-Block’ album featured a great mix of tracks that showcased the talents of both Wu-Tang Clan and D-Block. It kicked off with ‘Union Square’, a hard hitting, classic hip-hop song that set the tone for the rest of the project. Other standouts included ‘Drivin’ Round’, featuring Sheek Louch and Ghostface Killah, as well as ‘Can’t Win For Losin’, which was another strong collaboration between Method Man and Styles P.

The album also had some more mellow vibes like on the soulful cut titled ‘So Sweet’. Here we heard verses from Raekwon The Chef & Jadakiss alongside stellar production courtesy of Hi Tek. And let’s not forget about their lead single ‘Stick Up Kids’ which served to introduce fans to what they could expect from this epic union.

Overall, it was an excellent effort from two legendary groups who proved why they were at the top of their respective scenes for so long. They managed to create something truly special and memorable with this project that stands out even today as one of rap’s greatest collaborations ever released.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Wu-Tang Clan and D-Block have come together to create an amazing album in “Wu-Block”. This collaboration was highly anticipated, as both groups are two of the most influential hip hop acts of all time. The track list for this album is filled with classic Wu-Tang and D-Block bars from some of their greatest members. Every song on the album has it’s own unique vibe and sound that can appeal to fans of either group.

I’m personally excited about this collaboration because I’ve been a fan of both acts since I was younger. As someone who grew up listening to rap music, seeing such iconic rappers coming together to make an album like this is truly special. It shows how far hip hop culture has come over the years and how powerful collaborations between artists can be.

This is a great opportunity for both groups to reach new audiences while still maintaining their individual sounds. With their combined popularity, “Wu-Block” could easily become one of the biggest albums released by either artist. Whether you’re familiar with Wu-Tang or not, this album should definitely be checked out!
