Reality television shows have gained more attention for the negative depictions of people rather than uplifting individuals. TVOne is launching a new series featuring singers Faith Evans, Nicci Gilbert, Syleena Johnson, Monifah and Keke Wyatt, that will promote positivity, music and real life issues on R&B Divas.
One leading reality series under constant scrutiny is Love & Hip Hop, but Nicci Gilbert of Brownstone says R&B Divas goes in a different direction. “The difference between Love & Hip Hop and our upcoming show is there will not be any boycotts, their will not be any running across tables, their will not be any drink throwing, their will just be love and sisterhood.”
She added: “You will see real career women who are mothers, wives, sisters and most of all friends.”
The show is slated to premiere Monday, August 20 at 10pm on TV One and will follow these women, responsible for songs like “Again,” “If You Love Me,” “Guess What,” “Touch It,” and “Nothing In This World.”
