Ryan Leslie is focused on a new project and it’s not music. The singer-songwriter has written, directed, and produced a campaign short about Taj Clayton, an inspiring young African American lawyer who worked his way from a small glass factory in the outskirts of Desota, Texas to a graduate of Harvard Law, paying his way through school as a campus custodian.
Taj Clayton is now running for Congress in his home state of Texas, District 30. The short titled “Why I’m Running,” is a touching example of a young man overcoming everyday obstacles that many of us can relate to and paying it forward to his community by running for congress.
Clayton and Leslie, who is also an alumni of Harvard Law, are dear friends. Ryan saw this as an opportunity to reach those in and around all communities by creating a viral video and spreading it digitally to spur the change we all look for.
This is definitely a great think Ryan is involved with. As a community, we need to know who the politicians are that will help bring about change.
Help support Taj and past this video on…
