After telling Craig Ferguson that she’d been fired from the hit CW reality competition “America’s Next Top Model,” judge Paulina Porizkova says her job could have been saved if Tyra Banks would just show up on time ! “I shouldn’t say this because this sounds bitter, but if Tyra came in on time, they would save somebody’s salary,” Porizkova told TV Guide.com “If she actually showed up on time for the judgings and they didn’t have to pay a lot of overtime, they would save a lot of money.” According to Tyra Banks, Porizkova’s firing was due to economic conditions and was not personal. In a statement released with executive producer Ken Mok, Banks says: “The current state of the economy has forced shows to make major budget cuts industry wide. ‘America’s Next Top Model’ is not immune to these financially challenging times. We’ve had to make significant cuts in every area of the production and, unfortunately, Paulina was a casualty of these cuts.” Unlike Porizkova, who has not only called Banks out on her timeliness but, also over the day she was fired — her birthday, Banks attempts to make a clean break in her statement with Ken Mok: “Tyra, who pursued Paulina to join the show as a judge multiple times, was incredibly saddened by the decision the show was forced to make. We really enjoyed working with Paulina, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” Banks and Mok’s statement read. Porizkova joined ‘Top Model’ nearly a year ago, replacing iconic model ‘Twiggy’.
