With so many people glued to the television and watching more and more reality shows, Singersroom was able to catch up with the brains behind VH1’s hit saga “Love & Hip Hop.” Mona Scott-Young is the owner of Monami Entertainment, as well as a former co-owner and president of Violator Management, where she has professionally represented, Missy Elliott, 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes.
Extending her brand to TV, Mona shed some light on reality television, insisting it takes a certain type of person to do reality shows.
“When you sign on to do a reality show you are saying you are the kind of person that does not mind having every area of their life documented and shown for the world to see,” Mona told Singersroom. “I think that calls for a specific person or personality type. I don’t know if I am cut out for that or that I could have cameras following me all day but there are people that are okay with opening their lives up and sharing their lives that way.”
Scot also adds about the line between reality TV & real life: “I think the person is really responsible for the life that is being followed. You dictate what you will and will not allow us to document. You will dictate what you will and will not say; what you will and will not do. So I think that line is dictated by that person.”
Do you have the personality to do a reality TV show?
