Maxwell is officially confirmed for over twenty forthcoming shows this summer thanks to his album "Blacksummers'night" making its way to stores.
The tour, as previously reported on Singersroom, follows Maxwell's celebrated fall 2008 tour where the former "Now" singer debuted several cuts from "Blacksummers'night". Those songs, including the lead single "Pretty Wings," and other cuts like "Bad Habits" and "Cold" will likely be heard this time around.
Slated to kick off June 17 in Grand Rapids, MI, Maxwell's summer trek will make its way through Los Angeles, Cleveland, Tampa, Austin and Milwaukee before coming to a close July 31 in Miami, Florida.
According to Columbia Records, Maxwell will also headline the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans July 4, appear at the BET Awards in Los Angeles June 28; and perform on the CBS "Late Show with David Letterman" on July 10.
Select dates on Maxwell's summer tour schedule have gone on sale through Ticketmaster with others set for on sales Saturday, May 23. (see itinerary below)

Hi Everyone
I have pre-ordered my CD, and I can't wait until it is available. I love Maxwell's music, always have. I think he just the best there is. If anyone would like share pictures of Maxwell just drop me a line. Maxwell if you read this, I think you’re the BEST. I have so much to say but I so love Maxwell's music that I better keep it short and sweet.
See ya at the July 21 Concert in Albany.
fyi
I agree with Sam and Cass! When one of our artists delivers quality music, we need to support it! Britney still sold well and she was by far on of America's worst role models, but like Sam said, they bought her music no matterwhat! White consumers purchase their favorite artist's music and that's why their favorite singers have the better looking music videos and stages for their tours! So don't spend to much the Holiday weekend before and prepare to buy Maxwell's CD during the week of its release!
I agree Sam. I have already pre-ordered my CD. I'm supporting the "Maxwell One in A Million" campaign. We see Brittany, Madonna, etc sell over a million like it's water, why can't we come together and do the same for one of the few artist who can really sing?
Folks, you have been crying for years that there is no real music anymore; Well, on July 7th, you all need to purchase his new CD within the first week! First weeks sales determine the pace for future promotions on how much a label will be willing to continue to spend on the artists current CD! African-American artists overall are at an all-time low with record sales! The country's in a recession, but it won't hurt you to go over to the electronics department at Wal-mart and Target to buy his CD while you're grocery shopping, or even better, go support your local record shop! Early reviews have been great, so don't bootleg it; buy it! The pop and country music-buying public supports their good artists in high numbers no matter what they record, so you R&B lovers need to do the same!
