A few weeks ago, Mariah Carey’s brother Morgan slammed his superstar sister, claiming she’s been neglecting their older 54-year-old sister Alison, who’s HIV-positive and in dire need of medical attention.
Now, Alison herself is attempting to publicly reach out to Mariah through a short video exclusive to The Daily Mail. In the clip, Alison (a former prostitute and recovering drug addict) says, “Mariah, I love you, and I desperately need your help. Please don’t abandon me like this.”
According to the The Daily Mail, Alison was a victim of a home invasion last year that left her brain damaged, and she’s currently awaiting brain and spine surgery.
After Morgan’s accusations, Mariah’s representative reached out to The Daily Mail Online to counter his claims, saying he’s lying about Mariah’s involvement in helping her siblings.
“Through the years, Mariah has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars supporting Alison and her children,” the rep said. “In fact, Mariah has supported her extended family for over two decades.”
Morgan has since fired back, saying Mariah hasn’t done a thing to help Alison. “Because Mariah has not found it in her heart to help Alison get the care she requires, there are times when Alison forgets or is unable to take her medication and this sometimes precipitates problematic behavior,” he said. “Alison was institutionalized for observation after being found wandering in the street barefoot and partially undressed, causing the police to be concerned.”
