Last week, Sammie (formerly Leigh Bush) gave fans a Christmas gift in the form of Indigo, a full-length project full of new originals. It’s a free album; a “thank you” to fans and an appetizer to hold them over until he drops his third LP Blue Orchid in 2016.
“This project is closure. I’ve been conflicted for so long on how to prioritize my life that in the process of doing so the most important thing which is love, got pushed to the bottom of the list,” he captioned with the set. “I’m finally at the point where nothing else matters to me but love. From my mistakes, I’ve learned the lesson. And those very same mistakes molded me into the man I am today.”
In an interview with Singersroom for our digital issue cover story earlier this year, Sammie told us about the upcoming LP. "My third LP is titled 'Blue Orchid.' And what that symbolizes is my Ex. The blue orchid is the most beautiful flower I’ve ever laid my eyes on, and I had the pleasure to date one of the most beautiful spirits that walks the earth for 4 ½ years. A lot of material I wrote and sing on this album is about my past relationship with her."
