Rising Memphis, TN bred singer Apollo Mighty pondered his life path in his video for “The Escape,” the first part in a video trilogy. Turns out, it’s based on the real-life internal search for freedom.
His aptly titled new EP "Wilderness" represents a time in his story in which he is free creatively. He is free to thrive and shape his art and image as he sees fit, at the risk of displaying vulnerability and self-doubt to find it. Written entirely by Apollo, Wilderness EP also boosts production by DJ Dahi, Lewis Cullen, B.A. The Misfit, and ItsDutchee.
"Wilderness in many ways reawakened my love for lyricism again," says Apollo. "Writing this project felt like poetry. During the creative and production process, I felt like I grew more so in terms of knowing more about who I am and what I want to say. I make some bold statements on this one and at first I thought about not saying certain things, but I ultimately knew that I needed to say them as this project is a true testament to where I am right now in life."
