For the past few years, there’s been biopic release after release of our favorite stars (TLC, Aaliyah, Whitney Houston, NWA), and the stream of movies about music artists continues to grow. Rumors are floating around that the next in line is the beloved late rapper, Tupac Shakur.
Randall Emmett (Hollywood producer of Starz’s series Power and 2013's Lone Survivor), posted the mock poster (above) on IG and revealed a film about the influential rapper will, indeed, get his own biopic.
"It's happening. So thankful we start shooting this December. Coming Soon 2016".
He went on the thank certain key players and mentioned 50 Cent, Mark Wahlberg, and producer LT Hutton. “Thank you @lthutton, @georgefurla and #david Robinson for being great partners. @50cent @georgefurla @tylerolson @dannya27 @jerryferrara @mrkevinconnolly @markwahlberg," he writes.
Earlier this year, it was reported that John Singleton would be directing a film about Pac, but moving forward was stalled when Singleton dropped out in April, posting on IG, "The people involved aren't really respectful of the legacy of Tupac."
Seems legit, but hopefully if the movie is moving forward, it's done right!
