Even though she released her full-length album, Aquarius, last year, Tinashe continues to put out new music, this time in the form of a 7-track mixtape called Amethyst. Named after her birthstone, the project was recorded in her bedroom over the holiday vacation.
I think Tinashe shines on her mixtape offerings, where she can create freely. It's full of ambient grooves provided by Ritz Reynolds, Ryan Hemsworth and others on which Tinashe's voice always meshes well.
Amethyst follows her last mixtape, 2013’s Black Water.
