Twenty-one year old, Richmond, Virginia singer Tickwanya Jones drops her dope single “I Can Love You.”
Written by Jones, the song features a nice sample of Mary J. Blige’s 1997 hit of the same name thanks to upcoming producer Matt Hines; the subject is the same, with Jones declaring she can be a better lover to her crush. Tickwanya has the pipes and great lyrics to boot!
Some of Tickwanya’s musical influences include, but are not limited to Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, Patti Labelle, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Tammi Terrell, Whitney Houston, Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce, Brandy, Jessie J, Ester Dean, Sia, and NeYo. She’s preparing to graduate from the prestigious Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Business/Management and a minor in Music and Society.
