Salt-N-Pepa’s here and they’re STILL in effect!
The GRAMMY Award-Wining rap group Salt-N-Pepa were honored last night (Oct. 28) by The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and their 7th Annual “Women Behind The Music” series which encourages and recognizes women in the music community.
Held at Subrosa in New York City, members Sandra “Salt” Denton and Cheryl “Pepa” James were honored for their accomplishments spanning their 30-year career. DJ Quiana Parks provided the tunes, and the group performed their hit single “Shoop.”
ASCAP’s EVP Membership John Titta and VP Membership, Rhythm & Soul Nicole George-Middleton presented the group with honorary plaques for their monumental contributions to the music community.
