The family of the late Freddie Gray received a huge picker-upper as they continue to mourn the loss of their loved one.
During music icon Prince's #Rally4Peace concert in Baltimore last night, members of Gray's family as well as Mike Brown's mom had the opportunity to meet and take pictures with Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Alicia Keys backstage.
Two weeks ago, Beyonce showed her support for Baltimore and other shaken communities, writing on Instagram, "People are hurting," as she urged followers to support the NAACP to help in the cleanup effort.
As previously reported, the concert was "a catalyst for pause and reflection following the outpouring of violence that has gripped Baltimore and areas throughout the U.S." Jay Z's Tidal platform also stream the event, which saw a portion of the proceeds going to youth charities in Baltimore.
During his Set, Prince demanded social change while paying tribute to victims of violent crimes.
"The system is broken," he stated. "We gotta fix it by building a new one right here, right now. It’s gonna be all right, y'all. It’s gonna be all right. We're gonna figure this thing out."
Prior to the show, Prince released the tribute song, "Baltimore," which you can listen to here.
