All hail, the Queen of Soul!
Aretha Franklin is back with a new album Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics, and she releases the first single, the cover of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” taking he already-soulful song to another gospel level. The song then transitions into a rousing version of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics will arrive on October 21 and will include Franklin's covers of songs like "Survivor" (Destiny's Child), "Midnight Train To Georgia" (Gladys Knight), "I'm Every Woman" (Whitney Houston/Chaka Khan), and "People" (Barbra Streisand).
"For her to do all these songs, it's very exciting," Clive Davis, who partnered with Franklin on the project, said in statement.
Watch the soul queen tonight (Sept. 29) perform this song on “Late Night with David Letterman. She'll also appear on The "Today" Show on October 3.
