On Wednesday, March 26th, August Alsina held a private listening session for his forthcoming debut album, Testimony, at Hudson in New York City. Hosted by New York radio personality Angela Yee, during the event, Alsina previewed songs from the much anticipated project, and he also spoke candidly about his first full-length body of work. In addition, Alsina was presented with a plaque for the gold certification of his hit single "I Luv This Sh*t."
Other guests in attendance included Def Jam label-mates and rappers Pusha T and Fabolous, DJ Khaled, and more.
Alsina’s Testimony will arrive April 15th, the birthday of his slain brother, Melvin LaBranch III, and features appearances from Rick Ross, Jeezy, Yo Gotti, Pusha T, Fabolous, and more.
"As an artist, I struggle with how much of myself to give to the people. How much I want my personal business to be judged,” states Alsina. “I think the EP struck good a balance of who I am and what I’ve been through, but that was just the beginning. Nothing is held back on ‘TESTIMONY’. When people hear my story, and see that I came from nothing, they’ll see that it’s possible for them too."
